North Carolina - May 2, 2010 - Went out Sunday to our favorite spot north of Asheville and found about 80 – 90 yellows with one or two blacks and one grey. Poplar trees, creek bottoms – same spot we found 61 last week. Tried another spot close by on a hunch and found the biggest morels we’ve ever found in WNC – a couple the size of a soda can. Best day we’ve ever had. Ended up with 154 morels. Dug a few ramps for good measure. - Jeff and Pam

North Carolina Morels - April 5, 2010 - These morels where found April 5th, 2010 in the Raleigh area (about 8 ounces). We have had a bit of a heat wave here. Hopefully the weather will cool down some in the next few days. “Happy hunting” - Fredi

North Carolina Morels - March 30, 2010 - I found these Morels on 3-30-10 in the Raleigh area, the first ones for me this year. - Happy “hunting”.

North Carolina Morels - April 5 & 6, 2009 - These mores where found around the Raleigh area on April 5 and 6, 2009. It is a total of a little over two and a quarter pound. A few nice big ones, the majority of them average size.
It should be a great week for morel hunting after that heavy downpour this morning.

North Carolina Morels - April 3, 2009 - Picked these today, April 3rd with my 10 and 12 yr old sons in Lee County (Sanford) in a local park. All under or near tulip poplars within a few feet of the paved path. Our first morel foray - what a blast! Thanks for the informative links and info.

These morels where found in The Raleigh area of North Carolina on April 6, 7, and 8 2008. Some of the yellow morels are very large for this area.
