I live in the Harrisonburg area and things are in full force here. I have talked with several people who are finding as many as 400 per day. They are now finding the big yellow ones. As for the best places to look, that is wide open. With the conditions we have had so far, I wouldn’t count anyplace out. I would especially focus on spots with apple trees, ash, elm, and along old rail fences. As big as the mushrooms are right now, you might get lucky by just hitting the woods and keeping your eyes open. Keep an eye on the other weed and grass growth in the woods. If the other plants are up and beginning to grow well, then you probably have the right conditions for morels. Good Luck, let us know how it goes.
