Saturday April 12th
My friends and I went turkey hunting in Decatur TX and found these excellent blonde morels. Most from 2-7 inches tall. Need to find another location as this was playing out. we found 52 nice 2-6 inch blondes on Wednesday before and dried the whole batch. My friend Tim came from Montana to visit and took him out and he was amazed and addicted to hunting these delectable schrooms. My buddy Norm turned me onto to his hidey-hole. No regrets he’s the best. Don’t give up your hunting grounds until you die and then pass it on! Norm went out on the 5th and found 102 nice schrooms where we found the ones this Saturday. Total schrooms, about 250 in 3 days all in same location. Guesstamative pounds, 20plus. Picture is the last hunt. Trying to find Wednesdays picture to post.

Just moved to Austin seeing if morels are around these parts would luv a little help please
WOW!! I’m from South Texas- met a Canadian who is a Morel advocate and we now live outside of Decatur Tx. We found Chanterelles down south and boy was he excited! Wait till I tell him Morels are this close to our new home!! Any hints to where to find some??!!
My husband and I would love to start hunting mushrooms near Austin. Do you have any advice? Morels are our favorite.
