Out today at my fav spot about 30 mi south of louisville. Found 24 greys mostly med and small. maypops are up and running, next week or so should be good if much needed rain happens.

soak in salt water in fridge or kitchen sink for few minutes to rid all the dirt and bugs lay on paper towel or shake excess water off the hickery chickens using a drainer coat with flour and very little meal dry mixed salt and pepper to taste get grease hot in skillet then turn temp down fries quickly like fish, for those over 1 1/2 inch cut in half
If these are edible how should they be prepared? This will be my husbands first time hunting and eating them…..
What a beautiful sight! I have lived in Frankfort KY for going on 8years and have yet to find any… I came from indiana where I always found them..
so congrats… was beginning to think no one found them around these parts!
