i’m looking for a club or group in northwest arkansas, that hunt mushrooms. i’m in the rogers area.
I am in the Beebe area and wonder if there are any in this area. we are in the city but have access to country property if it is worth while to look.
I just found my first mushroom of the year! just wondering if anyone else has found any. I think it still may be 10 -14 days early but had a blast looking
Yes there certainly is a few things different here that you should probably be aware of. For starters as im sure you have noticed our dirt in north central is half rock - half clay so you have to find a place with good soil. Also the time of the year happens to be the same time when the copperheads are waking so be aware of those nasty fellows as well. I would recommend some places for you to start as i live in bull shoals area but wouldnt feel comfortable doing that on here . please email me if you would like to know more at thomas_frein@student.asumh.edu
I am in North Central Ark. by Mountain Home. I am renting a home in Oakland 20 miles west of Mt.Home. This is my first winter to be in this area. I am from the Des Moines IA area and me and my family have been avide shroomers all our lifes. When do I start looking for morrells in this area in Arkansas? The last week of April to middle of May is when we find them around central Iowa. I am anxious to get out there and start looking. Is there anything different I need to be aware of down here?
I found one in the woods by my house In Little Rock on the 23rd. It was about as large as a mans thumb. I wish I had of taken a picture!
Looks like dinner for Abe!;)Send some north!
