Missouri Morels - April 27, 2009 - Found around the Kansas City Area. 198 Total….. We have walked miles for these… but totally worth it… the one next to the coke can.. is the biggest one yet. YEA.. what a find:) yummy… Michael and Rhonda Elkins…..

Hello, that’s an awesome roon! What do you know about the ground in Missouri? I’ve went out the past few years and if lucky found a handful! I used to live in central Illinois and we hunted the river bottoms and would find 30lbs some years… I’m wondering if the rocky hills are playing part in me not finding any in Missouri… Do you know of any pointers you would like to share? Thanks in advance!!

Do you find them in areas with alot of rocky ground( like in the hills) Missouri is one rocky place! I used to find them in the river bottoms in Illinois ( MUD) so this terrain is very discouraging when you go out and don’t find any! I’m just wondering if someone has any tips for the hills in missouri?? Thanks to any replies!!
