Pennsylvania Morel - May 13, 2009 - I just found this one in Pennsylvania, Near Pittsburgh, it’s starting to die but still HUGE, it’s the biggest one I’ve ever found.I found it today (5/13/09) near a dead elm, I’ve always found the others around crab apple trees. It’s about 11inches tall and 5 inches wide.

    I live in Robinson Township and every year my wife and I look for morels (mostly in Raccoon State Park - after a day of trout fishing) but have yet to find even one. Could you give a hint where we might be able to find some?

    my son found a quarter pound of these in my back yard .never seen them before and worried about eating them.
