Tennessee Morels - March 30, 2010

Gord & I went to Tennessee to find the first morels of our season on Saturday March 27th. We stopped at Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky on Sunday, but it was still quite chilly, so we didn’t find much, just some relaxation with our dog walking thru the woods. Monday, went on some private property in Cross Plains, Tennessee, and found 1 that was still pretty blonde and about the size of a quarter. On Tuesday though we did much better, we found 20 nice blacks on that same property. Yep, didn’t get snowed in Tennessee, our first ever morel finds outside of Michigan :o) Got a new camera this year, I think it takes better pics too!! Enjoy :o) - Kellie

I think there’s a little known law restricting Tennessee morels from being removed from the State! Next time, bring them to my place and we’ll fry ‘em up and eat ‘em!
(Made that up about the law!)
