went walkin in the rain through the cleveland metroparks rocky river res. yesterday. found a few monster yellows and a stray gray. near an elm(60-80 years or so) that fell last year and amongst other, younger, mixed hardwoods(elm, maple, oak, walnut, etc..). lots of 2ft. high undergrowth making it hard to find more.
this year has been slow went down to aep land and found about 300 but up around shreve hardly any every year but this one i have found over 1000 but just gave up a buddy of mine is still finding big yellows in nashville,oh
found over 300 in the past week just walking 15-20 mins a night after work. STILL finding them fresh TODAY (kinda unfair i live on a property that is part of a giant watershed). Couple 10″ yellows that you couldn’t miss. And on the pop/grow arguement i really dont know what to tell you, I have seen them gradually get larger over a 24-36 hour period when i have the chance to mark them near the edge of the yard, but with my method i walk basically the same paths daily I DO BELIEVE that they can pop so to speak. Like when you cut 2 in an area and have checked the area thoroughly and return 24 hours later to find a couple within arms reach of the cut stems. I do practice a few different techniques (onion bags or wicker basket to let spores fall, or even blowing on caps to “release” spores.) I have no idea if any of these things work but I have never been shut out either. Always some luck, (knock on wood) Thats what makes the hunt so much fun though, they are mysterious and intriguing all the same. Good luck to all and best wishes in your hunts to come
Yep, we are done for this year. We made one final trek out yesterday, and nothing but tall growth and impossible to see anything. See ya all next year!!
I went out on the 6th of May and found two yellows, one was about 6 inches tall and the other was 3 inches tall. There were some others around but they looked like an animal knocked them over and they were starting to decay, kinda made me mad LOL, but thats all I got and they were good eats. I will post pics as soon as I figure out how LOL…. could someone please tell me how?
Most of our spots here have produced nothing at all this year. We did find a couple of small areas that we ended up with about 3# for the entire season. We went back out this morning and only found 4. The groundcover is getting pretty thick and almost impossible to see any. I think that we are calling it, until next year. Just thankfull that we found what we did find. Better luck for next year.
I just wanted to see how everyone else’s season has been going. Last year I found a honey hole spot in N.E ohio. We picked hundreds and hundreds of morels. We just got tired of picking them and left even more in the woods. This year I checked that spot twice and got a total of maybe 20. I don’t understand that much anyone have any thoughts? I also had another spot I got about a hundred last year and nothing at all this year. I did stumble upon a new spot a couple weeks ago that I got about 50 big ones so atleast I have been eating a few. Had an apple orchard I did ok last year also and got only ten this year. So whats going on is it just a bad year or what?
I went out today and searched my normal spots. I found nothing. It sounds like it’s not being a productive year for most. Does anyone think we might have a late season? The weeds appear to have grown over everything? Any thoughts? I am in SW Ohio, Lebanon.
@ nefer, since no one responded I find them around live wild ones tucked into mixed hard woods, orchards have been hit and miss for me, one year pounds of yellows, the next nothing. The 3 or 4 apple trees I sometimes beat the weekend warriors to, ALWAYS produce M deliciosa, this year 2 but we can’t change the weather. sometimes I have to take them during the white stage of “growth” sometimes i don’t get to them until they have “grown” into monster yellows because of traffic in the woods I hunt. Hope that helps you out.
Shroomdawg Scotty C
Sorry I am in columbiana county madison township, would love for someone to show me what to look for.
Would like to find someone experianced in hunting shrooms to go with me into the woods near me and show me what to look for.
summit county - went to the woods yesterday after work found 18 yellows in 1 spot — appears other spots had been picked over
I found 86 big yellows under one tree here in Summit Co. on 5/5/10. All were 4-7 inches. It was the motherload!!! Best find ever in one spot. HUGE yellows!!
found 83 to day the guy that is buying shroms wants to buy them to dry because out of season they are dried and they go for $240 to $300 a pound in stores at least in ohio!!!!!!!!
Looking to buy morels $25/Lb. Please e-mail me at jonjacob4@yahoo.com In Canton area!
Fun article from the Columbus Dispatch newspaper.

REF: Mike.
To compare this year to last, 37 lbs. last year to about 3 lb. this year so far. Our spots from last year have produced 0 so far. We did find another small producer. They were all greys except for a couple of yellows. I am a little concerned with the upcoming weather for the rest of the week and weekend. Planning on going out today, before the rain hits late this afternoon. My son hit Resthaven over the past weekend and did pretty well, except for bringing home a couple of ticks. Sure would be exciting to find one as large as the Southern Ohio photos of the monsters!! Happy hunting all.
@Rod from Erie. How did this season compare to last for you? I found it to be very slow. I did find one spot that sort of salvaged the season from being a real bust…leave me an email where I can reach you if you want more details.
Has anyone ever hunted in any of the apple orchards in Ohio? Do living apple trees encourage morels or is it only places where apple trees are dead?
I found alot last week and the week before around 200 but I hope after all this rain they will come back up but as it is I have not found any fresh ones in the past few days or so but three today that was lookin pretty bad and dry so I left them where they were hopin its not over for us want to get just a little more Urbana,Ohio
My moms B/F and i Just got back from finding about 65 yellows. it was a nice patch. The biggest 4 were about 6 inches and rest were 1 to 4 inches. had a blast crawling around on hands and knees in the pouring rain in a fence line with Maltaflower rose bushes in a patch of 65. Good times.
IT WAS A GOOD DAY ME AND MY FRIEND FOUND 136 IN THE PORTAGE LAKE AKRON OH MOST BLACK AND YELLOWS GOING BACK OUT AFTER THIS POST
GOOOOOOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey ya’ll I found one big yellow yesterday behind my moms house by an old rotten log, it was starting to decay, I will go in her woods after the rain is over maybe tomorrow, wish me luck!!!!
Went to Greenville, Ohio today, spent 4 hours in the woods with nose to the ground, found nothing. I’m not sure if it is to late or to early or just the weather. Any advise?
hey, all im loving this seasons mushrooms! but where do i find them? plez help me out?
I found about 12 nice yellows today (3-5″) almost all were found around ash trees. Still haven’t found one snakehead, last year in another patch we found around 300 or so. Maybe after the coming rains
Hey all! I just found about 2 pounds of yellows and grays today on our thirty acres in central Ohio most came from two spots one under a standing dead elm and the really good spot was under an old apple these are the first I’ve found this year except a tiny gray about two weeks ago.I’m really hoping to find more do most people think it’s too late in the season?
J Morel in my 40 years, this year I have found approx 30 around maple, about 30 associated w/tulip poplar and then ash after ash after ash, one or two large yellows on each one instead of 20-30 and 2 spikes I can say elm did that. An old apple yielded 2 on the other board you can see it’s remains would have been 12 inches tall til it fell over 2 weeks after I walked past the same tree. Some years it has 30 or more, we are all baffled and I did the leg work to find 300 so far. 80 degree days followed by 60/30 for three days twice! I hit the big yellow spot 04/10 and found 135 and the numbers have dwindled from there on.
Found about 30 yellow and 20 grey out in Coshocton today. Even was finding fresh greys that look to be starting a new.
Dayton S/W Ohio I have yet to find my first morel under an Ash tree this year, never had this happen in 40+ years! What’s up with that? No snake heads as of yet either. still have some woods that are NOT producing morels …never had this before either. This is one strange year for morels! Anyone else notice these changes???
@CrazyA, you are welcome and I wish you the best of luck, don’t judge any woods based on this season if you are anywhere near W/C or S/W Ohio. The year of the yellow, after intial flush they were few and far between!
Ref:thetree. We have been going out hunting in Erie County for a couple of weeks and just this past Monday did we start finding a few greys. Not too far off of the lake, so I am figuring that the cold North/North East winds have held them back. At least I am hoping for a better season than just 17 greys. No yellows in our hot spots as of yet. That rain helped alot, but we now need some warmer days. Maybe this Friday?
Has anyone here ever had any luck in extreme NE ohio? Im talking about lake and ashtabula counties? I have been finding tons of ramps, fiddleheads, and may apples, but no morels yet. Is it still a little early?
Shroomdawg - By woods I mean private. Some are fairly large, others only a few acres. Out of the 7 we hunt we have only had luck finding them in 2! I have thought about dumping the water into the woods but figure….why do that when I can dump it in my own back yard…lol! Actually, that is what got me interested in hunting them. We consistently get 5-7 morels every year right outside our back door. The first year I found them I had no clue what they were. Showed them to my dad and he flipped out and fried them up for me. Thanks for the tips and Happy Hunting.
The parents hit it big on a private Logan Co. property last night. They found around 150 nice greys and yellows, mostly yellows. A good avg. size of about 2 1/2″ to 3″…perfect for eating.
Hey everyone! I am glad to see this board ;-)…..not sure why there was some questionable posting going on. We have hunted quiet a few times here, are new to the area, live in Galloway, outside of Columbus. We have not found any this year, frustrating being in a new area and not knowing where to go. We have looked at Darby Dale and around some farmers fields so far. (I know where they are in NE but that does me little good now doesn’t it!! …..I am glad lots of you are finding the tasty morsels…..we hope to at least get a pan full for dinner! Any ….any pointing in large areas would be greatly appreciated….;-) Thanks!!
I have been finding yellows for about two weeks now. Also found several half-free.
Have found a total of about 100 so far this year.
Found two yellows that were the size of a softball yesterday.
No doubt its been “on” here in central ohio. Just wondering if this rain we been getting is gonna make em pop one last time.
Gonna go out and get one more big haul, then call it quits. Its been one of the best morel hunting years for a long long time that I can remember.
Ref: MISTY MILLER. There is endless information on several web sites on what to look for and where to look. It takes alot of time and even more luck. Do alot of reading and alot of viewing of posted photos and you will learn alot.
Checked my little spot in Wayne county yesterday, and found 3 grays and 2 woody’s
I’ve been checking there for bout 2 weeks and yesterday was the first ones I found there my man went south and found 48
Found another 15 or so Sunday afternoon in the rain around Hardin/Logan Co. line. Nice mixed bag of greys and yellows. Smallest about was about 2″ and biggest probably about 5″. Got the rain, now how about some sunlight and heat. Gonna be a chilly one today.
I have been hunting a 300 acre, remote, privately owned, piece of land, bordering Dillon Lake, and State Property. This is the first time I have ever hunted in this area and I haven’t been able to find a thing. Does anyone know if it is possible for so much land to beable to not produce any Morels??????
Hit the woods in southern hardin county today found 9 nice fresh greys and 1 that had been up a while. all on a couple of dead elms. this rain did the job i will be out the next week as much as possible. good luck everyone.
bagged a turkey and filled a bag with shrooms, big yellows were drying out, found some 2″ yellows fresh and a couple of fresh greys. wilkesville area in vinton county.
Hey everyone. im new to mushroom hunting and i cant find any yet… any tips?
Finaly, after last nights rain showers, we ran into about a dozen greys.Nice size. First ones for this year, so far. I was getting tired of reading about all the ones being found South of here, but it’s our turn up North now to go hunting with some luck. These were all found along RxR tracks. Nothing showing up in the wooded areas as of yet. After all of this need rain clears and the warm weather coming this week, the ground should be a popin’ with grey and yellow gold. HAPPY HUNTING!!
Found 7 nice greys in Hardin Co. this morning. Was only out there for about a half hour on my way home. Wet and fresh shrooms. This rain should produce quite nicely I would think here in the next couple of days.
Crazy A, by woods do you mean a state wildlife area sized “woods” or a hillside with trees on it? I have many woods with in my woods LOL that some produce regularly ands some never do, but I look anyway while I am getting to the area. Remember the age old saying 10% of the woods holds 90% of the morels. sadly this year it has been 1% holding 100% though some lower spots did fruit my usual spots were worthless with the exception of all my late woods. If the spores can establish a colony in a woods that has never devoid of morels, most definitely they will be found there in a couple years. Doesn’t hurt to pour/spray spore water from soaking if you do that around parent trees. The worst thing that could happen is it would fail LOL.
CS I hate cross posting but you raised a very valuable question! Yes ground temps are “odd” air temps have really fooled the scouts as I like to call them for the yellow variety. Where I would usually find a flush of 5-20 around a given ash in normal year. The scletotia below the surface can decide to fruit if conditions are good or make more sclerotia. This year they sent out scouts in my opinion tricked by the warm weather in SW Ohio, just north of me they are fairing better as rainfall was better there and different micro climates have allowed them to flush better. Once the primiordia breaks through the surface it either develops if there is eough humidity/rain or aborts at some point in the “growth phase of a morel” Google that popper people. Besides more scratches I have never been so cold some mornings while finding them but it was full 10 days early for any of my woods so that is to be expected. Can we as a community not mention popping vs growth? You can beleive what you want, some may have totally false anecdotal evidence that they suddenly form in minutes in the right conditions but this argument is exhausting, redundant, and ridiculous. We are adults who act like kids in the woods so I guess we can act like children here if we have to.
JEEP - Thank you for your very kind offer but I think I will pass on that!! lol Was able to make it out to the woods yesterday for a couple hours. Only found 7 (4 were pretty small). Hoping the rain this weekend will help. I have one day to hunt next week and plan on taking full advantage of the entire day…keeping my fingers crossed.
CrazyA, ill be glad to help you out since you dont have time. Where are the places you cant get to? Im glad to help.
I have noticed that our ground temperature is just barely 55 degree’s. I have noticed that a lot of people are not finding morels.I know that it has a lot to do with the lack of rain, for the most part. Problem now is, with the plant growth being what it is already, It will take a lot more effort to find them, at least here in the southern part of the state. Could ground temperature effect the yellow morel growth ? Are we, just not there yet ?
And, How many people find a good number of morels in the 1st week of May, or the 2nd week ? This question is for central to southern ohio, mainly.
I think that morels grow. I dont know that they just pop up to full size overnite. I will tell you something I have observed. I have seen other mushrooms pop up to six inches tall during the night and actualy dry up and fall over the next day after the full sun was on them for a half a day. The mushrooms probably are in the LBM catagory, not sure of its identity.
To back up the “popping instantly” theory. About 10 years ago on a Saturday morning I was hunting a railroad bed and found a good 30-40. Thought that I possibly had missed some so thought I’d check back later in the afternoon with nothing else to do that day. Went back no more than 8 or 9 hours later and found another 100 or so. They were coming out of the rocks and just everywhere. I probably found around 40 - 50 in areas where we were earlier in the day and I know that I didn’t miss that many. Most were at least 2″ so they would have shown up pretty well in the black cinders up there.
As far as this year, went out a few days ago around the Logan/Hardin County boarder and we found around 20. Half were 2″ or better. Great majority were greys and few yellows. I wouldn’t even call them yellows, maybe just a bit lighter greys. Definitely weren’t the late season “golden” color. We need rain and looks like we’ll get it finally. Best of luck shroomers! Next week should be a productive one.
Still nothing yet. Waiting for the rain to help out this weekend.
nothing here in butler/warren counties, hopefully this weekend!
Question for my fellow morel enthusiasts… My husband and I started hunting 3 years ago and we hunt several different private woods (with permission of course). Two of the woods produce regularly (at least for the last 3 years we have hunted them) and 4 others have never produced. Due to work and family schedules we have limited time to hunt this year. Obviously we will hunt our “lucky” spots but was wondering if anyone else has ever had a woods just start producing after several years of not having any morels??? We still check these woods every year but hate to waste too much time since we seem to have a shortage of it this year!! Hoping some of you can offer some information…thanks!
gooing to hocking hills this weekend to look for morels~ only been once but never successful will take any suggestions or hunting tips
thanks
Found 13 white sponge yesterday, two peckerheads and two yellows. Or at least I think that was my count. Made enough to feed me and a few for breakfast this morning. Hasn’t been a normal year for me at this point. I usually do pretty good by now but add 11 more to yesterday and that is my total for the year so far.
What I found yesterday was under Tulip poplar and dead elm. Midway up on hillsides both east AND west. Nothing in the valleys or ravines yet.
@ Clevshroom. Did you find your mushrooms in the northern part of the state or have to travel to central ohio to find them? Just curious as I’m trying to gage when the northern ohio season is going to start (or if its started already). Thanks.
So we cooked up the greys and half frees with some fresh ramps we picked, fiddle heads, asparagus, garlic and butter.. amazing. Tried marinating the dryads in balsamic/ olive oil, garlic, oregano, s&p… not to good. Then tried beer battered dryad dipped in marinara and it was great! Will get some picks from out finds and feast as soon as I upload them to my PC. Trying to motivate myself to work today but I just want to go back out shrooming.. the addiction has set in deep!
Hi everyone, not entertaining the growth verses popping thing. Tool some new/intermediates to a nuetral woods FJ and John his dad and each found a yellow on North slope first thing, John’s friend John wasn’t so lucky they peeled off after a while took FJ across a creek check 2 good known ash nothing went side ways down in the branches of a falling tree found 4 yellows one the size of a hand, relocated to high spot found 2I missed sunday from a 10 day old flush of yellows down a bit some fresh 1 inchers…yes. Met Andy later and hit 500 elm to 1 maple to 1 ash woods found 2 spike first thing on elm, my first and only elm find so far and 4 yellows one really one on …yes…Maple for the third time this year, this place needs a rain and a week and it on there as it’s a bit north. All in Greene/Warren county 250 for the year primarily from the high place, a few down south in Ross the other day today’s total a meager 40-50 but I gave most to Jon and FJ where we found those and FJ was just glad to see one this year, let alone that monster the first biggun of the year. I apologized we didn’t find that many and he was still happy as school kid on Spring break, heading to Clinton Co tomorrow ofr if Latt somes up other spots in Warren that should be hot I scoped out last week Good luck all, will post pics on other Ohio board. Made fried steak with morels a few small Dryads I found with chives and garlic salt/dried chopped onions. OMG best teak of the year.
I tried the quart jar on a small black several years ago. Read about it on this site or TheGreatMorel, and it grew like mad. When everything is right, they will grow.
I will agree that they grow overnight, went and harvested a spot, then went back 36 hours later and found 6 that werent there before, but were bigger than the original ones I found.
Just took some rain, thats all.
Which we are supposed to get tomorrow. Hopefully.
moreloligist i beleive thay can pop overnight and be a decent size i just mean that if you dont pick them they will grow more. And i do have a tiny 5cm mushrooms in a viel that hangs on a necklace and got another on with no stem in a bottle that i just found this yr the same size. Theres a lady on ebay that sells the necklace with bottle baby shrooms in bottles just go to ebay and in the bar put item# 250414744129 and it will bring it up. i got one but the one i bottled myself has no stem.
I also ran across a spot that had thousands and thousands of ramps/ leeks. Sort of like a mix between garlic and wild onion.
I mean thousands upon thousands. Cant take a step without standing on one.
Dryad’s Saddle or Pheasant Backs supposedly taste like a watermelon rhine unless you get them young and just use the edges.
I have been finding a bunch of those also.
We found a bunch of grays, yellows, & I think half-free. We also found dryad’s saddle. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to cook them or have any delicious recipes??
I can’t believe that anyone that has been shrooming for years would think that mushrooms don’t grow I watched a number of grays and one that i thought was a black grow 2 to 3 time there origanal size just last week in about a 6 day span i also watered them once not all of them grew but most did some of the grays even turned yellow the one i thought was a black went from just a cap sticking out of the grownd to a cap with a 1/4 inch stem 2 days later to a halffree with a 1 inch stem and a dryed out cap after 2more days
Thanks for this moderated board. Now, can you do something about the lack of ’shrooms in my favorite spots? Good luck all and be safe!
i know for a fact that they grow overnight,i have went to a spot 3 days in a row ,and have found new morels each day..and have you ever found a half grown morel/or one without a stem?so i do know for a fact /that they pop overnight.
Mike last year we did find a few blacks, but not very many. Mostly greys and yellows. We went out last night and still nothing. We are about a mile from the lake , so that does has some effect on the cooler weather. We do need some of that “forcasted” rain later this week.I haven’t heard any reports from the Resthaven Area yet, but I never had any luck there. Happy hunting!!
lanny moffa please look at the pics i posted on the old board yesterday of some of the ones i let grow for just a day or two. Please. Unless you don’t let to be proven wrong. Go ahead pic the little ones you find but mine will grow and ill pick them when there bigger.
any one been to O.P. LAND YET
Really? You honestly believe they just magically pop to their full size? (If a tree falls in the woods, does it make a sound? You probably think it doesn’t.) Just because you’re not there to see it grow, day after day, as they do, doesn’t mean they don’t continue to grow. I personally watched one half-free grow from from just a visible cap on the ground, to a larger cap with a 2 cm stem, to a larger cap with a 4cm stem, over a three day period, just last week! You’re confusing the time lapse photography on the discovery channel, for real time photography. Do you really think a 12 inch tall morel grows in one night? Call Guinness World Records, because that’s faster than BAMBOO!
ummm comon folks once a mushroom is up .. its up they dont grow there spores.. once they pop up there up and dont go any further .. i dont get why people still say ”” im goin to let em grow .. lol go ahead .. leavem n the woods hopefully ill find the ones you think r still growing
Fantastic to see a moderated board. Found a few half frees and 3 false tonight. SE Ohio. Woods are still dry. I was looking forward to a good year, but just am not finding them.
Hey Rod, I’m in Erie county too…but usually travel elsewhere to hunt shrooms since I have not done so well around home (but I’m still very new to this). Do you ever find black morels around home, or just the grey/yellow varieties?
moreloligist Lol some do some don’t. I have pics of before and after. I also water mine. So you crack me up as well that you don”t try it. Over 4 people have seen my little ones grow so think whatcha want. I’ll post a pic of one on the old board for you.
Question - By the calender we are still early, but by the flowering trees…apples, crabs, etc….we are prime time or even past. It is too dry here in lower northwest Ohio. The vegetation is I think a couple of weeks ahead and so is the undergrowth in the woods. Does that mean we are going to miss them this year and have a bad year, or will the first next rain pop them like gangbusters? Is it the calender, or the temps, that control the season and whether we will have any?
you guys crack me up,the ones that say they dont pick them to let them grow,,,i have been hunting for 30 years, once up that it,no more growing…
I have a question. When you guys find them by dead elms, are the trees still standing? How close to the tree? If anyone had a picture that would be great. I found around 20 yellows last year, but am not very good at it. Thanks for the help…
Denise,
That was someone else, using my identity on the old board. I have not found any yet. I am still experiencing back problems.
Found 3 fresh grays around the tree i’ve been picking 90% of them from. Plan to let them grow for a day or two. Gosh we really need a good rain, not just a few quick down poors but a steady long rain, i guess thats to much to ask for lol. Will by hitting some woods tomorrow that have been dry accept for one black we found last week. Hope theres something there after the rain we got friday. Glad to see you found some CS and looks like you scored over the weekend Shroomdawg! Goodluck all!
Lunch-break hunt around Kent yielded 11 blacks and 3 small yellows. Left some very small yellows to grow more this week… Decent season so far around here, considering how early it started.
LOL since there 2 Scott’s here , BTW welcome Scott, not sure if i had seen your posts in the 5 years I have been now been participating, thought I would clarify my post, below.
Peace
Shroomdawg out!
Thanks for this board, so tired of seeing all the juveniles leave their trash on the other one that we got to where we didn’t post much at all.
Will be heading out later this week to check the woods once more, it’s still the earliest I have ever found morels around here, hope that’s not a bad sign.
Agreed CS but i will still be posting on the old one a lot, maybe we can cimmunicate here as the finds posts are out of control, I am already finding big, not huge yellows on Ash, heading “back” down 73 to the place we discussed Wednesday to cleam up what I couldn’t get to in short stop yesterday, can your back take a gentle stroll? Email me!
Last year was a good one. We harvested over 31 lbs. We are a little early up this way, I think.
Randy, thanks for the update. We live about a mile off of the lake and I think that is holding them back, along with the cold nights. The ground temperatures are up in the 60’s.We won’t give up. THEY WILL COME!!!!
Found 38 Thursday, 14 Saturday, 4 today.
Mostly greys, some half-free.
hey rod the shrooms are alive. my wife and i found 60 grays this morning. we found 40 last thursday afternoon. we live in ottawa co. hope you get that spring rush soon.
My wife and I go out and check our spots just about every day or so. Its ben way too cold and we sure could use a little rain and warm days to kick these in the bottom to get them started. But, we might be a little early yet, just hungry for some fresh ones!
Found two yellows by some elms here in Greene county. Need more rain.
Clermont Co
Found about 15 nice yellows this morning, Need Rain
found a few dozen nice sized blacks and a couple greys and it was fricken snowing looking for them in portage county
Went to the Zanesville area on April 18th and found 57 total mostly greys and some yellows and dried up blacks
I found 16 yellows, on north facing slope, Sat. morning. Waynsville area.
I found 16 yellows, on north facing slope, Sat. morning.
found 15 little blacks and 12 nice yellows around lancaster
Glad for the moderation. Sometimes needed. I do this for another forum and it takes time to weed out the misfits.
I checked out my dependable spots today and found two dried up shrooms. Sky watchers say weekend before two days of rain. Not a good sign for the season. Makes me think that when they do start popping they will come close together. Not a long season but a short breif plentifull one. Wishing everyone luck with their finds.
going out tomorrow around seneca lake, have my fingers crossed
Thanks for the new board. Looking forward to posting here.
awesome idea!!!!! we needed this
That’s in champaign county.
Found some greys and blacks.. not bad size.
Still nothing here in Champaign/Logan county. It was too dry, then we got rain. Now it’s too cold. What gives?
Let me be the first to thank the site for creating this much needed MODERATED board!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I look forward to posting my next find here… tomorrow. Happy hunting, all!
