yesterday was the best day yet, the monsters are starting to pop around dead elms finally and the best tree to look for is dead ash trees around creek bottoms or train tracks,i actually took pieces of bark from the ash tree to show people what to look for, i live in perry county southeastern ohio, this is great for shrooms.

In response to Berrys message, You can find them through May until the greenery has gotten so tall and thick that you can’t see them anymore. Happy hunting. Carol

I live the Dayton area. We had frost two nights, I believe on Thursday &Friday. It’s been pretty dry too. I went out to day found some that were burnt from the frost, but also saw some coming up. Not out of the ground yet. I think its going to rain her again. Then I will go back and see. Last year, Most of all the morels I found were 5-6 inches :)

Found 61 on April 29th in holmes county Ohio. Mostly dog peckers and a few grays. Might be a litle early for monster sponge around here . Only time will tell ! Good luck fellow hunters !
