Morels.com - Morel Mushrooms and Morel Mushroom Hunting
Hello! It's that time of the year again, once again I am starting a folder for fall finds.
Probably too early for hens but there might be some sulphur shelf (chickens) out there.
Ringless honeys started coming up last week in STL County
Figured I would start a NY thread. I've been finding chickens and bears comb tooth pretty decent recently here in NY. Here's some chicken I found off one log the other day. I found it Friday just barely emerging and waited until Wednesday to harvest. Although I don't have a scale, I think it is right around 60 to 80 lbs. happy hunting New Yorkers!
Little early but I consider the fall season after labor day. The nights will start to get cooler and we'll start finding those fall mushrooms. Will be interesting to see how late the summer mushrooms run into fall. As always it will depend on the weather!! Happy Hunting!!
I think it is a morel, but they grow out of a ball..... hollow center. Smells great. Nutty. Side of my yard.... the ball is pictured and the "cup" left after picking..... please help identify!!! Thanks! Kev
So I think I have found a couple five gallon buckets of ringless honey mushrooms. I have heard they make some people nauseous. Does any one have any experience eating them or a recipe they would like to share. Thanks
