You can count on it.
I am going to need some ID help. I think I found some old Hens late fall/early this past year, going to get some pics for you all to help with. Tried some Pheasant Backs for the first time this year, hope to add to my mushroom menu.
How were the pheasant backs lve never tried them
Well they weren't as good as morels, but they were alright, will pick a few again next year to try again.
had my first too this year thanks to this site I am confident on Identifying them now,and they like you said, OK but worth it, can't wait to learn about more, I think I could recognize more but will be asking some questions
what is in pic 2 and three, are they edible ? looks like something I would not
Bolete of some type check this out it will help
Absolutely, my dad and I started to pick "just ones worthy of a picture". Chanterelles, bags 20lbs at a time. Hocking them off on all the vegans and vegetarians we could find hahah
Zabz - Yup . . . great story . . . you experienced 2018 Chanterelle magnificiense in OH too. Thanks for sharing. (same latitudes as IN)
Did you get a chance to look at the video
Howdy is it alright with Yall..if i join in on here with ya!
The more the people the better
i really am wanting to get back in the woods this week...and maybe.. just maybe ..over round cold spring and the deep dark north pocket. se if there are any final Morels...
But tell me what might be beginning in my other spots..chicken of the woods?
lions mane? ahat is coming on now?
Oysters will probably be first but you won’t know if you don’t go send me some pics of what you find
Im in southeast ohio, been picking morels about 5years. Starting to do some research on chanterelles. Would you find them around pine trees or hardwood?
Mixed forest, mostly hardwoods, in my experience. I would just walk though, they don't run away like morels do.
Hey Wade looks like chicken of the woods are out. There are pics on the morel board I think he’s from Indy area
