Just spoke with a buddies son who is in the UP near Iron River, he hasn't had a chance to get out, but the locals are saying a few more days before they even start up in that area. But, he also said the temps have been in the upper 60s to 70s all this week. I wouldn't trek to far north. Good Luck.

Thanks for the info. I cherish the hunt.
    Greatly appreciate the info..
I have northern Indiana spots that still have never popped but I was getting mixed info that they were finding yellows in Grayling??? so I was just a little confused...
Love of the hunt is not lost

A lot of micro-climates this year. Hard to track progress in Michigan. I have some yellows that are almost ready to harvest but more 1 mile away that just started coming up this week.

Start South and head North if you need to. Michigan State University has a page that provides daily hi/lo info. on air and soil temps. along with daily rain totals as far back as you want to look.
There are scattered remote stations that provide the info. Keep in mind the soil temps are taken on bare ground. Shroom on my friend

The weather up here has been significantly cooler than 40 miles South in Ft. Wayne most of this spring. Things are still happening.

Keep your foot out of the gas, easy to get a ticket in a car like that. Good luck my friend.

For those of you that are interested in hunting Michigan, I previously provided an out dated site. Search Michigan State University Enviro-weather and you should find there remote weather station sites scattered around the state.
It will provide info. on several weather factors that relate to Mushroom hunting.

I'm so sorry. I'd have been at the camp meeting but dealing with lung cancer myself. Ive always been the eternal optimist and just tough through when it comes to myself. When it comes to my girls the compassion and caring is relentless. Haven't had to deal with that and I can't imagine what your going thru. Please know you and yours are in my prayers.

Careful, the MSP will throw you in jail for driving like you do in Indiana. I'm serious, they will impound your car and put you in jail. you've been warned.
