Hey bluetick 1921,do you find them around maple saplings often? A couple places I go to they are always near them.

Probably too late but head north. I’m in portage county and they’re all but done in my spots. I’m sure there’s some to be found but vegetation is thick and soil is warm. Stick with north facing slopes wherever you go
Yes, especially considering the temps we had today! I don't know why the weather forecasters all want to predict that Hell is coming to dinner. Once it cleared out today it got hot and muggy out there. We played golf! Damned if I'm going to stomp around a tick laden woods, sweating my ass off, when the last morels I found were right on, or just past, prime. And, we didn't get the rain or cooler temps predicted!
I made it out for last hunt today, and not only did I battle the ticks, heat, and sun; but, of course, the poison ivy and briars were surrounding the last few decent morels (and me in my short sleeves!) I got about a dozen keepers.
I'm done for the season.
