Well that dang Ground Hog saw hie shadow out east somewhere, so maybe six more weeks of winter!!
The good news is we start taping Sugar Maples in about 4 weeks. Good luck this year it should be “Epic”.

Phil and I managed to find our way out of our holes yesterday and joined the masses. Well Phil said 6 more weeks of winter so I guess I need to have some patience. One thing for sure spring will come just like every year.. The good news about Phil’s prediction is that in 137 years he is only correct 40% of the time….. Best of luck to all….

That's something I've always wanted to do is tap sugar maples and make some Maple Syrup. Some year might do it. Hopefully we don't get that week of 90° heat this spring. Down south they are thinking early hunt, up here I'm thinking like last year a long warm up which is fine, but I do get antsy a bit Lol. Best of luck to you all and enjoy the hunt once it arrives

Well they have had 2 confirmed finds down south Feb 10th in Georgia and Feb 12th in Alabama. Definitely early compared to last year about 2 weeks earlier. I still think it will be a slow gradual warm up like last year here, just praying we don't get that super hot week again without rain!!

Want to try that some year, love Maple Syrup. You must be up north a bit since you have snow on the ground. Down here in Janesville nothing running 15 to 20 inches below average for snow again this year but we have gotten a ton of rain which is just as good if not better. My Tulips are coming up down here along with my iris, hyacinth, and believe hens and chickens they are called. I know down here they tapped Maple trees about 2 to 3 weeks ago which I was shocked to hear. I'm thinking ramps might come up soon down here but who knows you can't predict nature at all!! I know I didn't get out on the ice since we didn't have much that I heard of. Rock River froze for 1 day here 🤣. Best of luck and thanks for showing the tap!!
