I bet your shrooms down in Arkansas are going to come up at the same time as the indicators. Be ready for an earlier season. Look for those dandy lions on the South facing slopes;)

I hunt me some sycamores as well. Absolutely perfect timing on those morels. Find a nice old stand of perfectly healthy sycamores and you will absolutely almost every time find a good patch of morels.

Sometimes I have luck around really young sycamores Only about 5 to 10 years old.

I have a few spots that have sycamores that have been damaged and cut on for years keeping them odd looking and hard to identify. Lots of shrooms.

I know how that goes when you find some think that you can find better ones somewhere else....almost never works out. Finding some roached ones amongst some beauties is never a good sign but at least it puts you right on the mushrooms. Gotta love those spots with the moss and the grass. Find the pattern and repeat.

Don't forget clusters of Micah caps. Those are the worst. Looks like a huge pile of morels from a distance.
