That sounds like one of my more reliable spots. Just one sycamore in the place, and believe me I've looked. And it's not in the kind of environments where you usually find sycamore. It's on higher ground and nowhere near water. But, it does put out the morels.

Well Traskwood n I went for a road trip today. Over to the great state of Oklahoma. Found a few. Should have stayed south, but the first spot we hit had good sized ones n a bunch of rotten ones. So you know how the mind works...... we decided to go north a bit. Didn't turn out so good spent most the day driving n jumping. Finally got back south enough to find some fresh yellows on top of a ridge in the out cropping. Never have I ever seen that. Strange start to the season for sure. I'll hit Arkansas in the morning. I know how that goes when you find some think that you can find better ones somewhere else....almost never works out. Finding some roached ones amongst some beauties is never a good sign but at least it puts you right on the mushrooms. Gotta love those spots with the moss and the grass. Find the pattern and repeat.
