I've been kinda watching weather in Illinois for a couple of months now...and as I recall Yall have been getting a good State wide Rain at least Every other week...🌧
So How are Yall feeling bout it,

I think we've been good on our rain overall, especially over the last couple of weeks. Something of an early spring here in northern Illinois, but next week is going to be slightly below normal temps. I think how much rain we get in early-mid April is the deciding factor, too soon to tell.

There was an unconfirmed report today in Perry County: Illinois Morels | Facebook
Perry Country is known for it's strip pits which seem to produce early, loose rock that heats up more quickly is my guess. Other reports include southern Missouri and Tennessee.

I've seen morels pop way early in the "strip" pits with lots of gravel or shale. We would be finding babies in the tree line and FULL grown mature shrooms amongst bricks and moss first week of April. Now we go there first a good week early and it's wild! They always keep popping more and more unlike most areas with a typical bloom.

Wade here... When do you intend to begin Hunting?..
I don't think I will get in the Woods until April 10th at earliest... that could mean I'm missing out on South-central Indiana Blacks..
But I've got to finish my Work at home before I get out there 🙃

Start hiking in one month then we will see what the weather has in store for us I don’t think I will be chasing this season
