🤠 This Will Be My 57th Season of Hunting the Same Areas that My Dad first Carried Me into..when I was only 2 yrs old in 1965
I'm Not Studied up on all the New Sience that is Available in Our Age of Online..
I Just "Love the Hunt" and I Still Find Morels Almost every time I go, sometimes a few Sometimes a lot.. it is very Exciting to find a bunch like 50, 100 or 300..
But I believe we will all agree 👍🏻 💯
It's the "Love of the Hunt" and just being in the woods is Always Our Heart ❤
🤠 I hope this year as we all find Our way on down the trail together on Here..
That we will make time to take some Pictures of Cool, interesting things we see along the Way,
Maybe like a beautiful sunrise as you begin your hunt in the morning.. then pics of Morels Growing...
and when you find yourself looking face to face with a perfect Example for a 🌳 Tree Identification 🌳 please take some pictures and share them with All of us...
🌲 and just as well if you find a Tree you are Not Sure of ..share some good pics of it and we can All help to identify what it is.🌲
🍄 Also when Our Morels are done, STAY IN THE WOODS..We will Continue finding Many Other types of Edible Fungi 🍄 all Summer and Fall into Winter ....

Hard to believe that those blacks will come up in 40*! You must be on the same parallel as me. I'm on the Mi.- In. state line and my lake temp. is the same. I usually wouldn't even think to look this early but I have a spot that produces blacks around tulip poplar. Is that a dark black sandy loam where your finding? Next weeks weather is finally looking better!!!(Northern ohio) Went out today expecting to find nothing and that’s exactly what I did😏. My first ever March Morel! Usually find them first week of April in this spot. First found 7 blacks last year 4-10-22. Picked 8 today 3-26-23. So about two weeks ahead of schedule. Ground temps 39-41. Seen over 20 will go back in few days to round up some more. Picked these 8 for a meal. Mayapples barely up 1” or less. Ramps 3-4” at most. Woods hardly greened up at all. It begins! After last week of 70's and 80's the woods have exploded with green! I went out for my first attempt yesterday and found one black about thumb size. This morning has been snowing on and off so this should slow things down. If we get some rain this week It will be a good season up here in the NE corner of the state. Only prolongs the season. the best year I ever had was 50* temps for the whole month of May. I found a 14''er on my birthday! May 23. I went back to my spot that I found one black last Sunday and doubled my output. So I'm up to 3 now! I'm letting them grow. My buddy is starting to find small yellows around Huntington. It's slowly heading north and thats a good thing!So what everyone’s thoughts about this cold stap this weekend

Been raining all weekend and the next 2 days here in Stueben co. They are calling for 70's this coming weekend. It will be game on up here.41° and rain here in Kokomo at lest no freezing temperatures

your opinion is spot on! It should be a great season up here.I would image northern Indiana gets on fire this coming weekend. They had more rain and the morels weren’t started before the heat. It’s been cool so it’s delayed. Central and south were most likely below average. Just my opinion
I've only found one patch but have been finding about 20 at a time for 3 weeks. I left a couple so I could see if they make it to 4 weeks. Going back tomorrow.How has you black morel season been in your location buddy?
Thats 3 years in a row that there has been no rain up there. Sorry for your misfortune. At least you found a few to fry up.Well Northern Michigan under the bridge is having another bad season due to lack of rain😭 been here since Saturday we've only found a few lbs hoping to find more but no rain in the forecast we spent today out of the woods just enjoying our vacation we might hit some of the UP but still holding onto hope for here under the bridge
