Cool pictures, and I like your plann I don't know if ..I will Hunt Charlestown this year, because I'm still busy to finish up my "Treehugger"..Comparing this year's weather to last year's season, I'm expecting to make my first finds around the first week of April in Charlestown. Hopefully, a week or more earlier than last year. Then I'll head North to Morgan and Monroe County. Went to Charlestown state park today, trees are certainly blooming earlier but ground temps are still cold and the 10 day forecast won't get it there... here's two pics marking the beginning and ending of the season in Charlestown 2022

So true! Also, mushroom eaters seem to occupy another niche. I'm on a golf webforum and on the Food & Drink page someone started a thread titled something like "Why are mushrooms considered food?" I had to get involved in that one, and I guess a bunch of others picked up on it and we beat the non shroomers down!Mushroom hunters are a niche group, most people don’t like the ones sold in grocery stores let alone ones found in the woods that could kill you… Even up north when I hunt around rivers where people are fishing for salmon/trout no one bothers to get morels as well… I’ve seen them growing on the fishing trail by the river and watched fishermen walk right past them and worse step on them… Which makes me wonder each season how many billion in the usa alone never get picked…🤔
That Weather and Season Prediction, Sounds About Right, and I'm not surprised.. seems to me that the last few years had us all looking thinking it could be Early.. but I was not..So true! As for here, I'm beginning to have doubts about any kind of an earlier season. We seem to be deep in the heart of "second winter". It's gotten cold and is predicted to stay that way for awhile. So, it's basically just back to normal.
