Go to the Kentucky page to follow the timeline. I 1st reported on the 28th that a person I know found black morels on 2/27 with a pic of the receipt attached. Later I reported additional finds with a pic attached. I’m not understanding the remark about the dates not adding up. I will be hunting my farm in the Mammoth Cave area this weekend and will report

I’ll be looking next weekend in my usual black morel spots. Ahead in ground moisture by almost an inch compared to last year and ground temps are running a couple degrees ahead of last years pace. Hoping still for that march morel. Really just need to get out and put a good trek in to get ready for the next 6-8 weeks of putting the miles in.

I agree. The nighttime temps tend to dictate what kind of season we have close to the lake.

The monthly outlook is looking decent, though. I expect things to start on time, maybe a few days early if the predictions are somewhat accurate.

them are beauties! I like them in a clear Aisian soup. I use to find a lot of them but the last few years they have disappeared in this area. I don't know why?
