Thought I'd get this started. Quickly approaching fellow shroomers. Can't wait for the first signs and to see all your finds [email protected]

Picked 87 more today. All in one area. I check several other spots only to draw a blank. I haven't recheck any of the trees I found them under last week. I'm hoping the warm/sun brings a second "bloom".
Great score! Good looking specimens!

Jcg86 I've found true morels in same areas. Those could be half frees should have cut one open lol. Good lick
I know it, I'll have to go back and verify. Thanks, this gives me hope!
JC , Chenango county usually runs a bit later than here in Oneida County and we are just hitting our stride now.
Awesome, thank you !!!

Geo we had 4 Jake's and 2 Tom's around us but didn't come in close enough. Hens took them away. My youngest will go this weekend with me. She's excited.

Picked another 30 5/10 23. All Grey's makes me think better days coming once the yellows appear.

Today was a much better day. 186 and the morels had to prove me wrong by throwing a bunch of yellows at me lol. I take it. Best tree had 58.

I think we are about done in the southern tier. I rechecked my spots I from finds a week and half ago, only about 18 new mushrooms. I found a few old ones I had missed. I tried some spots that didn't have any, and picked 14 big yellows and 2 other areas had nice patches of 21 greys. I tried some proven ground that had apple trees, 2 trees had one old mushroom each another had 5, all old. I remembered a big apple up the hill, and boom picked 43 and left a dozen or so old ones. There were on the old side but in good shape. I going to the ADKs next week and see if I can get lucky there. Had a above average year in the southern tier with about 250 found.

Great report! Let us know how you do up north.

I found about 40 near Ft. Drum in 2021 in mid May. I won't be able to check that area until next week when I head to the Saranac Lake area. I hope they are still good if they came up. How far north are you?
Mitch I'm about 30 miles north of drum. We are in full swing. South facing slopes full on north slopes be ready soon.

Hobler, Thumbs up!

Finally found a new dead Elm not too far from my old faithful Apple tree that has provided me with Morels for years. The Elm gave me 45 morels today to make the total 99. I couldn't find that last one. I was dragging butt towards the end of the foray. Those 99 took five miles of walking rough terrain in about 3.5 hours. The first ones I found were a mile and a half in. Great day to be in the woods! I am going out again tomorrow as this area is peaking . Good luck, enjoy the hunt.
