Hobler I got about a third of your total. Went out the last two days and got skunked. Abrupt end of the season it seems. Stay tuned.

Ended up picked a few tiny one's last Friday and leaving a few (was hoping for rain). Glad I picked them, even though small, the ones I left were completely burnt out. I did stumble on one more in a new location, very hopeful for next season. Still dreaming of finding the one tree with the motherload underneath. 15-20 this season but better than nothing! Throwing in the towel here in Chenango County, til next year.

This is the second weekend in a row that I went on the hunt hoping to find some stragglers at my favorite PG spots. To no avail, not a one. My one favorite late season spot didn't produce a single morel this year, baffling. It amazes me how abrupt the season ended. It won't stop me from taking a walk this morning before the heat hits, after all morel hunting is just another reason to get into the woods.

I'm always back in the woods on my farm this time of and usually find some but none this year, due to the lack of rain I figure. Thing was it started out moist and there was probably some little one under the leaf cover but they never got big enough to pop. I'll pray for rain cause in past years the season can extend well into June
