Anyone finding any in the Ames area? I'm in need of a good spot to look. I think most of the places that I have looked are gone over many times by people like me. Also, is anyone having luck around the Ames area yet or is it still too early (late spring)?

They are out in the Sioux city area. Which is not to far from you. In fact they are starting to dry out around here. I think it's close to over for this area. You better keep looking : )
