Anyone else feel morels will come early this yr 2023

Since last summer I noticed a lot of herbs and mushrooms bloomed earlier than normal, starting with the goldenrod. I even found a lions mane much sooner than normal~ makes me wander if morels will come early. All this rain, butter cups already sprouting here in North Alabama. Thoughts~

Have found them in Barbour county 3 of last 5 years. Not this year, but sound like its time to look. Barbour County is about 50 miles north of Dothan, and a little west of Eufala

Predicting my first Bham area morel in the Feb 25-March 5 range.. Also heading to south Alabama ( Barbour county Feb 23rd ).. Wade , I havent hunted Illinois since 2010. Will be in Peoria area hunting this year late April/ early May.. I promise to steer clear of Indiana so I wont accidentally step on any of your morels

Going to check my 3 best early spots on Saturday (25th). Thinking 50/50 that i may spot a morel or 2 with the warm temps this week. Everything Dallas and eastward to the Atl Ocean has plenty of moisture. My avg first finds in metro Bham have run Mar 6-11th, and thats only a 14 year avg. This year definitely seems to be somewhat early, but that could be Feb 25 for me or March 5, still havent fully figured them suckers out ,hunting since 1970, but at least Ive come to realize that and respect it…..Stasiak are you out there brother..

Still thinking Feb 25- Mar 5 range for my first Bham metro morel. I dont see them waiting more than 10 days with this weather; then again there could be a few up around here right now. Checking Saturday morning (2/25)

Checked all my best early areas this morning (25th) . Didnt see any morels. Going back Tuesday (28th) to recheck them all..

So wade, good question….My metro Bham, and its southern metro. 2022 and backwards in that order: March 11 in’22……March 12 in ‘21…… March 5 in 2020…. Feb 25 in 2019…. Feb 27 in 2018…. Mostly 2015-2017 were in the March 10-15 range as best I remember
