Timmy! This warm weather has me thinking they will be up early. Been scouting some areas on my way to and from work and will probably go out this weekend.Going to check my 3 best early spots on Saturday (25th). Thinking 50/50 that i may spot a morel or 2 with the warm temps this week. Everything Dallas and eastward to the Atl Ocean has plenty of moisture. My avg first finds in metro Bham have run Mar 6-11th, and thats only a 14 year avg. This year definitely seems to be somewhat early, but that could be Feb 25 for me or March 5, still havent fully figured them suckers out ,hunting since 1970, but at least Ive come to realize that and respect it…..Stasiak are you out there brother..
That was QuickMy only spot that is producing needs some rain desperately. Looking like end of season morels. Hoping for another flush with rain coming on Friday. View attachment 44694
Very quick, but we are in a good place to have an extended season because temps will be stable in the 70’s with some rain comingThat was Quick

That is some Very through Observations and information.. Thank You for Reporting this for EveryoneChecked my 2 best early spots today, Bham metro. . Did not see any morels. These 2 spots are 1/3rd acre and 1/10th acre. They have produced my first finds 8 yrs running. Each spot has 10-12 specific areas that produce.. im noticing the ground is warming, but very slowly due to our wonderful ground moisture. While that could push the season just a bit from starting, its a good thing. Hey, you cant fix dry. Were not close to any dryness and have Thurs/Fri rain of 1.5” to 2.0”. Will check again Friday morning. Will update with my probable first finds Fri (3rd) or Mon (6th). Im 85% on that, but you never know for sure until you see that firsty….
That's AwesomePeople posting morel finds in Elkmont Al & Giles Co Tn which I live in between ~on Facebook ~ I'm checking tomorrow my earliest spots.
@judymoon Thank You for Your Accurate Reporting ✌I went to check early spot Not Yet~ almost feel those FB posting are from Trolls or just like us Morel Fever Crazy People to go into a frenzy! 🤷♀️
Yes I doSince last summer I noticed a lot of herbs and mushrooms bloomed earlier than normal, starting with the goldenrod. I even found a lions mane much sooner than normal~ makes me wander if morels will come early. All this rain, butter cups already sprouting here in North Alabama. Thoughts~
