I was looking in a small hollow with a small stream last night for tulip morels. Plenty of nice poplar trees and has a history of producing the past few years. Ground was fairly dry and not having any luck. Stopped and looked down and there was a showy orchid blooming and next to it was a morel. Over the past few years I have noticed that where ever I find the showy orchid blooming I always find mushrooms. Has anyone else noticed this? I read online that the seeds of the orchids need fungi to grow. More rain today should help. Also found 3 nice grays and 4 yellows growing outside our office last evening. Also picked about 35 grays around our house last evening.
