I am in the woods as I write this post. Have stumbled on a place I’ve never hunted before. 27 & counting right now in a small area covered. Fresh new grays that have clearly popped in the last 48 hours, despite the fact we had snow in Rowan yesterday & a heavy frost this morning. Some yellows in rough shape, but several fresh ones as well. DON’T GIVE UP YET!!!

I agree! What the heck. It's only mid-April in a cold Spring! What could we possibly expect? People who think that nature punches a time clock crack me up!

No way should we give up. They are everywhere near the KY VA border in Letcher Co. Mountains are not greener out like normal. Warm nights will push this season into May assuming we keep the ground wet. I’m still finding em up high. Found 180 yesterday in the same place I found over a hundred a week ago. I may go back out today and check lower on the mountain. Still finding fresh shrooms and only left around 20 that were too far gone. Good luck guys.
