Has anyone ever found Morels in or around the Fargo/Moorhead area??? I've looked a few times and have never found any...I wonder if the soil isn't right in the Red River valley?

I lived out in the great state of ND for a while and not to many people have even herd of the morels and I didn't actively look for them but would bet they are there along the rivers and if you see some woods just nock on some doors and just ask for permission I'm sure a guy would get the ok

morelman, I have wondered about morels up your way. Are there cottonwoods along the Red or in other places? what type of trees are around the lakes? it would be time to start looking I would think. Let me know what you find.

Head east 20 miles until you get into sandier soil. From just past Glyndon. Lots of good spots. Everything is late this year. Give it another week.
