spanielmander-didn't find a lot last year but all were at the base of or close to ash trees with nice mix of low greenery (mayapple,trout lilies,grasses,etc) also somewhat open woods with dappled sunlight. feels close ! mayapples tall and open,trillium all over,flower buds on lilacs, everyone (except me!) mowing lawns. still some moisture in the woods but could use rain.calling for it today. still chilly nights. hope it doesn't dry up like last year.searched long and hard all summer for what shrooms i did get. good luck to everyone!!!!

Yeah I think the biggest limiting factor so far has been lack of rain (lower and mid-Hudson valley had a very dry April), and also low nighttime temperatures.

Once we get some rain, how long after that do you start looking?
