Found several tiny morels near the river in Thayer Co this morning. As soon as I can figure out how to add pictures, I'll post some for all you folks who require proof. I will say, they're very small and found between an uprooted cottonwood and another near death. About 20 yards in the trees on the river bottom. The clearing before you reached the area was to the south with the river about 100 yards to the north. Happy hunting to you all.

Went out and checked a couple spots yesterday and found 2 more little babies. Didn't have a lot of time but didn't see anything of decent size anyway. I'm thinking by Friday things will be getting good. Woods are moist, but could use more rain. We missed the majority of the storm that went through on Sunday night.

Lori..... sounds like your in my favorite spot on one of them WMA's east of Hebron. . I have been checking around in southern Saline county... nothing yet. And have been looking at a couple spots by Beatrice where I work. Nothing there yet. I have always liked the Little Blue Basin over the Big Blue basin for shrooms. Sure have found a lot in past years over there. Good Luck!!!

Hey Nebrcatman...I do live near 3 WMA's but I have never hunted on them. I have heard of some pretty good hauls on one from the state employee who manages them. They were pulling wild mustard out of a food plot and found tons of huge yellows. He said there were a few cottonwoods near by but not in the immediate area. So cool when you just stumble on them!

I pretty much stick to our property. If things don't shape up on our farm this year, I might have to venture outside the box. lol
