I went out yesterday in Southern Columbia County & had one of the best picking two hours of my five years of hunting. The good part was that I bagged almost 100 mostly blacks. The bad part was that I chopped up & scattered another 30 - 40 dried up toasties! What a shame - I hate being late to the game... The cloud cover today is great & the predicted rain later this week should bring the yellows in force. I have never seen so many so close. I bet I left another 100 on the ground nearby as darkness was falling. Back at it after work today... I may have to take some time off to fully appreciate what is out there! Kaboom...
BTW - I checked out a more northern (under 10 miles away) "productive area" = skits - nothing - a little odd , but its a sheltered valley & is usually late.
