TWO RIVERS was flooded out this spring, it might actually be a gold mine this year or next, one of the old timers might have an insight on this. I ran across a similar spot that produce amost 75 lbs. in a 4 acre area, they invited me out the next day still filled my bag.

schroomwinkle, If 55 does not qualifies me as an old timer I think I'm getting close. I would say next spring, but every flood is different it seems, so I would still check this year. How long has it been? Long enough for any pushed over cottons to produce? Maples and floods seem to interact different than cottonwoods and floods too in my experience. I have lived my entire life next to the Mighty Mo so i have seen a few floods.

Spore I almost crapped my pants when I saw your post! HAHAHA I was gonna wait out in a few of our spots with a paintball gun full of goose crap...
I was out today, caught a snake, found a not so fresh mushroom. Orange and stinkey. Woods are good and wet. No lavender yet, and the nettles are barely poking out. We have a week or two to go yet. Next week will rain rain rain, then its sunshine until the next weekend. We r close. Very close!

ShroomWinkle. what i have learned from flooded woodlands, if all the leaf litter and tree branches are gone, and the soil has shifted either up or down due to the erosion, you wont find diddly the next year. Maybe a few randoms and that's it. I waited a couple years after the mighty MO flooded and Finally, they were out in droves. you need to give the Mycelium time to work its way through the soil again. You need to give the vegetation time to break up the compacted soil. The woods need to rot again. But when they do pop, whoa buddy!
