Rusty are you young enough to do some serious hiking? I'm in dsm and have a spot or two that are public but pretty good, but require hiking! I go for 6 to ten hrs at a time.

Looking to meet up around the Des Moines area when things really start to POP! I will say upfront I do not have any "honey holes" to go to as I'm fairly new to the area, and as such I don't expect anyone to take me to theirs, (Although I sure wouldn't refuse any kind soul that would like to give me some tips 
But I do know of some public spots that I have found a few before, and would be game to go try a bunch of new areas with anyone in the area!
