will grow any place that has a season. Kentucky has a nickname for morels ,"dry land fish". As a rule of thumb, I have never found them in lowlands, but have along creeks and streams, even in gravel and sand..

Thanks JMorel. Hubby is down south now on a pig hunt and they told 'em they didn't know what morels were (we're from PA). I told 'em either they didn't wanna share (LOL) or that they called 'em somethin' else?? I'm gonna go with the 1st but told DH to keep his eyes on the ground. ;- )
