You have to investigate that haul closely. What you have there is a typical yellow morel but in all 3 stages of growth at the same time. The babies are in worse shape than the adults. Better hope for a nice rain to rejuvenate or planning on a lot of those spots drying up. I heavily agree with wade when you find a patch with that much variety you need to go back within 3-4 days. 2 weeks you will be harvesting mushrooms that haven't even popped yet.
Ok everybody I work a 6 or 7 day work week this time of year and its a 2 and a half hour drive from my home i go when i can but i do work for a living if i miss a few then so be it we usually pick 500 to as many as 2000 in a good year in two states over a 6 week period we follow the bllom in elevation from 500 ft above sea level to about 5000 ft in the mountains wish i had time to go back every few days must be nice to have that much free time.also plenty of moisture in the woods should be a good year.

Almost all of my spots are well within walking distance of my house😎 Any new spots I try to hunt are still within 30 min drive. Location location location
Lucky you move down here you wont find them everywhre like up north i used to find them in poeples yards in indiana and illinois they grow everywhere up there here they are very very scattered and hard to find
