Hey all!

First post here been lurking on the forums for a while now and there are a lot of amazing hunters on the forum!!

I have been trying my luck to get some shrooms the past few years without much success. Found maybe 20 total last year. I have been out 4 times so far this year and feel time is running out to get some. I would love to have some morals with breakfast!!

Just wondering if anyone can possibly point me in the right direction, I would not share any spots. So far I have hit Kent park by tiffin, friend said he had luck there before... I had none but maybe I was there at the wrong time. I also tried the Coralville reservoir yesterday again no such luck, wasn't seeing too many elms / fallen trees. Also walked some timber here in town that has produced before, again no luck.

I have tomorrow off and plan on trying to get out, although I'm not sure what to expect with all the cold weather this week. If there is a regular in the area I might be willing to team up, or shoot me a message of a spot I could try...if I have any luck I will be more than happy to share!

Curious if this cold weather will kill the season or if we might still have some more chances if anyone wants to chime in.

No worries either way sooner or later I will get lucky, happy hunting guys!

Hawkeye, I've been hitting a lot of spots around town with very little to show for it. Both the spots you mention get hammered pretty hard every season. I have been having my best luck in the bottoms along the Iowa river and creeks, fwiw. I am welcoming the cold weather, hoping it holds the soil temps steady just a bit longer. Wish I could be more help but I'm getting my butt kicked out there too. Good luck. I've heard Frytown is worth a look.
