First of all hi everyone. I've been reading your post for a few weeks now but just joined today! I moved here over the winter and have been exploring the property and found a "sugar spot" for morels. Although we love eating them i was wondering if anyone knew of any buyers for them in the surrounding area. I've found more then we can eat thought if i could find a buyer it would help supplement our upcoming wedding. Thank you in advance!

The only buyers in the NCWV area would be individuals. There aren't any restaurants that would take any off your hands and if there are it wouldnt be many. My suggestion would to set up road side somewhere or set up in a farmers market. I would imagine you'd probably have to accept less than market price per lb, but at least they wouldnt go to waste.

I usually give my extra morels away....kind of a Karma thing. I sold some one year, and the following year found hardly any.

I have had a few people tell me that the Lafayette Hotel in Marietta Ohio will buy them, But I have never looked into it.
Never hurts to call and ask I guess. Or try posting to some of the local buy, sell, trade forums on Facebook.
