Looking forward to great year in 2023. 2022 was poor here in Giles. At least the rainy summer gave us a lot of chickens.

I was in Virginia back in 2010, stayed on V- Beach
And visited a college with the second oldest building in America, and seen the desk where Cornwallis signed the surrender to George Washington..
and i observed a battle field
It was so very very inspiring, I cried..
If I could have visited as a child on a school trip
I'm sure I would have enjoyed studying America's History... instead of Hating History as I did in school...
Now I hope I can visit out there and Hunt Merkels with @barndog and maybe some of Yall others sometime, to make it part of my American History.
I intend to make it out there Eventually
Love the Hunt

Claims to have been found in Tazewell County. Earliest I ever saw. Maybe a great year!

Man that looks good , seeing many signs of early spring. Maple trees in full bloom early this year and daffodils and yellow bells .

Such a weather tease this year, we hit 50 degree soil temps in February and now they are below average :(. This is for Northern VA.

I’ve seen people on Facebook saying they are finding them. Im skeptical. It’s been a warm winter but not consistently warm enough and for the last 4 days the humidity has been 20% during the day. That’s dry.
Might be worth looking Saturday, warm temps this week then rain.

The person in Tazewell posted pics of some with ice on them. Monday morning it was 14 here so they would have to be frozen. Woods around my house still look dead.

I've heard reports of 2 people finding a handful the last 2 days, in the Charlottesville area. I'm gonna be checking some early season spots throughout the week. Rain last night, suppose to rain Saturday, and temps looking perfect! Happy hunting!
