Soil temps are averaging around 49 degrees here. It should be close

I've been hunting morels for 40 years. There are more morels in the cottonwood forests along the Missouri River than anyplace I've ever heard of. You can find hundreds and largest ones I've ever seen. They are really late this year, so don't let that discourage you. Give it another week and they should be in full bloom.

Do you know if any of the oysters are edible around Bisman? Any other edible species I can keep an eye out for?

I don't see why Oysters wouldn't be edible. It's the Missouri River valley and a lot of people hunt it all the way down. Chicken of the woods, Pheasant backs, Ramps, Fiddle heads can also be available in the spring. A little google research will help you identify each. Good luck!!
