It looks like a very young reishi. Is it on a hemlock tree, when you touch the underside does it turn brown where you touched it. I fry the white part on the reishi and to me it is very good. As with any wild mushroom make sure of your identification before eating any. If you let it grow it will get more of the shiny red cap until there isn't any white except the pore surface, even that will turn brown.
