im pretty new to this i went out the 12th, no sign of any fungi, should i be lookin up high or down low?

Here in Estil Co. the only place I have found any so far were the blacks and that was in an old burnt area of the forest, most were high on a west facing hill, some found half way down the hill. Blacks are very hard to find due to their color. Any burnt areas check there. No sign of white or blond srooms yet.
