Last night (2-16-23) having Morel Sauce over Charcoal grilled Salmon wrapped in Bacon got me excited to start thinking about the up-coming Morel Season here in Ohio.

Nothing else to distract from the flavor -- no salad, no vegetables, no Bread -- well I had red wine.
Here's the Morel Sauce ingredients for last nights cook, below:

Hey Koko- No, I am not a chef . . . however, Truth be Known I did own a steak & seafood restaurant in the early 80's. Took up too much time and I decided I wanted a different life.

This warm weather woke me up from hibernation!! Ha! Glad I still had some dried Morels left to feed the itch!!

I agree with sb cooking some chef like meals. I’ve got a couple jars of dried ones left myself. Was just thinking about opening them up. Not sure what to make with them though. Probably use them up this weekend on something.

Just found a false morel today in central Ohio! A bit early for that, no?

Wow ! That just doesn't happen unless it is on in my opinion. Wishfull thinking I guess They are the first to appear usually . Did you happen to see any infant Devils Urns? They start out red in color. When they turn black is when I usually find a few blacks. Great reporting! Here in central In. I found one April 3rd last year. 10 days later the first blacks.

Please keep posting finds. I’m trying to time my NE OH trip from HI for morels. So far I’m booked to leave 4/24 but now I’m thinking that is too laye bit was perfect in 22.
