Was hoping to get some insight on a topic. I recently checked a section of timber that I morel hunt. It appears that the owner had burned the down timber, brush and some ground cover. Was probably done within the last month. The ground is not totally burned. Will this affect the morels?? The ground has been too cold, as of now, for them to start popping out of the ground. Hoping within the next week to week and a half. Any information or insight on it would be greatly appreciated.

I Wouldn't know for sure, but you should check the spot early for black morels, it could be a good thing. Clearing the cover, and possibly darkening the ground could cause the spot to warm faster also.
