from what ive found...the early greys here are blacks...they stay grey depending on temp/growth rate...so...in a word...the blacks are starting and have actually found a few pickers down south from mqt...certain areas may be really boomin right now depending on temps...its 42 here today ...and 61 where i do most of my hunting...so it wont be long in areas away from the lake...have seen sack fulls on fb of friends of mine in our area.GOOD HUNTING!

Goober, what is your local area, Marquette? You have seen pictures of sack fulls that were picked in the U.P. down in my area I have checked all my spots and nothing yet except for beefsteaks. This cold spell we are having is definitely not going to help either. But regardless can't wait for them to pop.
