My first real hunt... came back with a bag full! Dead apple tree hooked me up! Nothing around the elms or other trees in the woods.

Thanks in advance for undulgng me here. I've been on this forum for about a week. Reading comments here and learning about our favorite 'shroom has lead me to today. I went back out this afternoon after my morning forage and came back with another 3-4 lbs.

I searched for more than 2 hrs finding nothing on my 2nd trek, but then in 30 miniutes I found trees that had 15-20 Morchellas each. I had to leave the hunt because my backpack was full.

Great shot but put away the pliers and the chores, morel season is short lived and so are we. Congrats on the find.

Went out for about an hour this morning. Found 2 patches, but they were from the last bloom and were dying out or chewed up by bugs. I'm really hoping that there's a 2nd bloom of mycelium brewing underground, and hopefully the rain tonight will fire up the boosters again. I think this coming weekend may be the last chance, as we've got lots of 80+ degree days next week and beyond.
