Hey fellow mycophagists, I hope you're awakening from your slumber and ready to trek the beautiful foothills. What's the earliest you've found a morel in the SW region? The first year I found them, and time I found them was on April 28th. I wonder if these warmer temperatures will have an impact on our friendly fungi? It looks like folks have started finding them in the Denver area. Southern Denver had some spots fruit on April 22, 2018 and North of Denver had some spots fruit today, April 24, 2018. Would you please share your resources of all things mushrooms in Colorado? Here's one that's updated and current for the 2018 Colorado Hunt! https://www.missfitting.com/colorado-morels/ Happy Hunting! Post your pictures, elevation, slope, county (if you'd like), etc. Protect those honeyholes!
