I would like to learn how and where to find morels, fiddleheads, and other wild foods in north central Wisconsin.

It's early right now. I would say later in the month of May. You're going to be looking for groups of dead trees. Look for dead elms. I find oak trees do not usually produce Morels.

Hey Scott,
I was in Waushara county yesterday and the ostrich fern fiddle heads are peeking up nicely near my stream.
I was out hunting down Morel mushrooms without any luck.
Where are you located in Central Wisconsin?

Hi Nikki -

Thanks for your reply! I am located in Marshfield. I got lucky and actually found some wild leeks last weekend though I am still clueless on foraging for fiddleheads and especially morels. The snow and cold rain right now isn't helping!
