Hello,
I found some small (1”-2”) yellow morels on property I own near the river after a recent rain storm. It is relatively dry here in Wyoming, with no rain in the forecast. I am wondering if it would help them grow bigger if I were to water them with some river water. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have seen people put a clear plastic cup over them at times. Maybe look at the benefits of going that route.

Ok thanks. I’ve been putting river water on them for a couple days now and it hasn’t appeared to hurt them. I’ll try plastic cups with a couple tonight and see if they grow any faster than the rest.

Watering them won't hurt at all considering how dry it is. I'd run the sprinkler on them for a while if you can, as long as it's not sunny. Water at night if possible

Waste of time. The mycelium is very widespread. You'd need to water or warm the soil over a lare area, possibly as wide as the leaf spread of the tree the morel is associated with.
