Hello everybody, I'm going to be working around Montezuma Ga. in March and part of April. My first time going to Georgia I'm from Indiana. Just wanting to know if morels grew that far south? Thanks for any help
Yes they grow in Georgia every year all across the state. I have never hunted it, but have seen peoples finds their year after year. They are usually one of the first states to find Morels starting in early March only behind California, Hawaii, and sometimes South Texas. They probably will be a week or two late this year, but if you can find some public hunting land in that area you should be able to find some.
I'd guess Montezuma is too far into the coastal plain to find morels. Just go north a couple of counties into the piedmont and you will have better luck...SelbyLowndes
